A vacationing couple were left gobsmacked when they found their smashed up beemer

A couple have been left in shock after they came back to Manchester Airport to find that their brand-new BMW had been smashed up.

The pair, who had been on holiday, left the £157,000 24-plate BMW XM car at the ‘meet and greet’ parking service while they vacationed in the Czech Republic.

While many believe that their car will be left alone and will be found in the same condition they left it in after coming back to the airport, the anonymous couple told the Manchester Evening News that the parking firm ended up bashing their car.

The couple alleged that after they rang the firm to confirm that they will be collecting the car, the hybrid petrol-electric motor was revealed to have been crashed into an object.

The most shocking part? The firm allegedly didn’t reveal where it happened, where the car was, and also did not apologise for the damage.

While the couple have not reached out to media outlets themselves, the couple’s daughter told the MEN outlet about her parents’ ordeal.

She revealed that after her parents called for the car, they had to chase up the company after waiting for nearly an hour.

She shared: “When they landed, they called to say they were ready for their car. But 45 minutes later there was no car and they called again. They said another car had gone into their car and to get a taxi home. They wouldn’t give the location. They called the police and the police told them the location.”

After the ordeal, the couple then had to call a taxi company to be able to go home and ended up finding their beemer in the Castle Mill Lane area in the village of Ashley, which is incredibly close to the airport.

Their daughter added: “They were really upset. They really loved that car. When their grandchildren went into it, they had to take their shoes off. The company just didn’t care and they didn’t even say sorry or that they would drive them home. They only found out where it was from the police.”

There is no information yet as to whether the couple have pressed charges or if legal action will be taken against the parking firm.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said they were contacted by officers from Greater Manchester Police regarding a BMW crashing into a hedge on Mill Lane at 1.53pm on Saturday 22 February.

They said: “There were no reports of any injuries, and the vehicle was recovered from the scene.”

A spokesperson for GMP added that no arrests were made and the driver has a negative breathalyser test.
