John Torode’s wife Lisa Faulkner has broken her silence after the Gregg Wallace scandal with an emotional post.
Gregg, 60, stepped down from MasterChef this week amid the ongoing controversy around allegations of inappropriate behaviour on the BBC show.
Lisa, 52, has so far stayed silent surrounding the scandal, which has lead to many calling for the current MasterChef: The Professionals series to come off air. However, the Cutting It star has now taken to Instagram with an emotional post.
Sharing a picture of her late ‘Nanna’, alongside her sister, Victoria, the actress wrote: “Happy heavenly birthday Nanna, miss you so much.”
Gregg appears to be furious with Lisa and his co-host John for not defending him amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the former greengrocer. Following the slew of claims made against him, the presenter has unfollowed the couple on social media.
Those close to the dad-of-three have claimed that he was deeply upset that John, 59, remained tight-lipped following bombshell claims from high-profile stars including Sir Rod Stewart, Kirsty Wark, Charlotte Crosby, and Ulrika Jonsson.
It comes as Gregg has been accused of making inappropriate sexual remarks and jokes by 13 people over a 17 year period. He strongly denied the allegations in a statement issued via his legal representatives.
After John decided to keep quiet amid the scandal, Gregg has made the drastic decision to unfollow his former co-star of twenty years on Instagram – along with his wife, Lisa.
A source said: “Gregg is absolutely furious and is convinced he has done nothing wrong. Seeing John keeping quiet amid all of this has irked him hugely.
“Gregg and John have been colleagues for almost two decades and while they aren’t the closest of friends, Gregg feels John could say something.
“He has deleted them from his Instagram account now and unfollowed both of them. It might seem petty from Gregg but he is furious about how this has all played out,” the insider told The Sun.
According to Lisa, 52, Gregg made ‘rude joke after rude joke’ during her time on MasterChef as she promoted their new cookbook, John and Lisa’s Kitchen, at the Cheltenham Literature Festival. The actress shared a crude jibe the dad-of-three allegedly told, admitting: “I’m probably not allowed to say this. You’re just sitting there and if you’re on the front bench just chopping away thinking, ‘I’ve got ten minutes left’, and he’s saying, ‘So this girl walked into a bar…’ And I’m going, ‘Please, I don’t want to hear this joke’.”
