Former Neighbours cast member Scarlet Vas has shared that she’s expecting a baby with her husband Tayo Ricci.
Scarlet, 29 – who played police officer Mishti Sharma on the soap opera, which is based in Australia – announced her pregnancy on Instagram earlier this year. The news comes a year on from her wedding to partner Tayo, 27, last year.
The content creator – who has attracted attention over occasionally referring to Tayo as her “stepbrother” – first shared that she was pregnant in September. She has kept fans updated on the pregnancy in the weeks since then.
Announcing the pregnancy, Scarlet and Tayo shared a joint post on the platform that featured a compilation. Alongside the footage, the pair told their respective followers in the caption of the post: “Baby Ricci. Our Christmas miracle.”
The footage showed them looking at a pregnancy test, which was revealed to be positive. Scarlet was then seen at an ultrasound scan in a subsequent clip, whilst another part of the compilation showed Tayo kissing her baby bump.
Scarlet, who has 6 million followers on TikTok alone and also has an OnlyFans account, and her husband later shared photos showcasing the bump. They wrote in a joint post: “And then there were three. We can’t wait to meet you.”
A baby shower was held for actor Scarlet – who appeared on Neighbours from 2017 to 2018 – earlier this month. She shared content from the occasion with fans, writing in a post: “I can’t wait to meet my new little best friend.”
The news was shared with fans a year on from Scarlet and Tayo’s wedding. They got married on the island of Mykonos, off the coast of Greece, in September last year. The pair have both shared content from the occasion, including Scarlet having uploaded a vlog from the trip to YouTube.
More recently, Scarlet marked her first anniversary to Tayo – who himself has millions of followers on social media, including 8 million followers on TikTok – two months ago on Instagram. She wrote in the caption of a post for the occasion: “One year ago today I married the love of my life.”
Their relationship has attracted attention in recent years over the suggestion that they are “stepsiblings”. According to news.com.au, Scarlet has said that they prefer to keep the specific details of their family connection private out of respect for their relatives, though the outlet reports that she has stressed that she and Tayo – who are said to have known each other for years – are “definitely not blood-related”.
