Hudson Joseph Meek, a talented 16-year-old actor best known for his role in the critically acclaimed film “Baby Driver,” tragically passed away from injuries sustained in a devastating accident.
According to a release from the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Meek died surrounded by loved ones on December 22 at UAB Hospital, less than 48 hours after being thrown from a moving vehicle.
The incident, which occurred in the 1900 block of Canyon Road in Vestavia Hills, left the young actor with severe blunt force injuries. Born on August 5, 2008, to Derek and Lani, Meek was a sophomore at Vestavia Hills High School, according to his obituary.
He was a well-rounded student who excelled both academically and socially. Meek was a proud member of the Vestavia Hills Rebel Football Team, actively participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and contributed to the Honor Choir and Student Government Association.
His vibrant personality and love for sports, especially football, basketball, and boxing, endeared him to many. His passion for the Auburn Tigers and his adventurous spirit shone through his love of outdoor activities, water sports, and spending time with his close-knit circle of friends.
