Will Smith has been slammed on social media after a steamy onstage moment with Spanish singer India Martinez.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor, 56, attended the Premio Lo Nuestro award show in Miami on February 20.
Smith, whose 2023 separation from Jada Pinkett Smith made headlines, shared an intimate performance with the 39-year-old as they sang their song, ‘First Love’.
The pair’s collaboration quickly escalated into a steamy display, with the Oscar winner wrapping his arms around Martinez, placing a hand on her backside, and appearing to share a kiss.
Backstage photos fueled the speculation further as Martinez was seen enthusiastically jumping into Smith’s arms, wrapping her legs around his waist.

Social media erupted over the performance, with fans calling out Smith’s behavior as “inappropriate,” while others defended him in light of Jada’s past confessions about their marriage.
“There has to be boundaries if you’re with someone – he also has to be mindful of his kids who are gonna see & read about this inappropriate behavior,” one user slammed.
Another criticized: “Inappropriate. Even if it is ‘entertainment,'” and one more said: “It’s how Will forgot where he was and went to put his arms around her.”
However, others were quick to defend the I Am Legend star, arguing that after his wife’s 2020 affair with August Alsina, he deserved a free pass.
“Nobody asked how Will felt when Jada had an entanglement, let him be happy bro, he deserves this,” one fan said, while another commented: “Leave him alone let him have his peace.”

The controversy comes amid ongoing public scrutiny of Will and Jada’s unconventional relationship. Though married since 1997, the mother-of-two revealed in 2023 that they had been secretly separated since 2016 and had lived in separate homes for years.
Despite this, they have continued to navigate their relationship in a unique way. As one PEOPLE source put it: “They are living their own lives but haven’t completely severed ties.”
The Set It Off actress herself has given conflicting statements about their future, admitting to The Times in 2023 that she expects to move back in with the dad-of-three eventually, saying that she will take care of him because he’s “getting old”.
She also told Today that by 2016, their marriage had left them “exhausted,” adding: “I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”
Jada’s 2020 confession about her affair with Alsina (who is 21 years her junior) during their separation put their marriage under the microscope.
Initially, both the pair denied the affair, but Alsina himself said in a bombshell interview with radio host Angela Yee: “I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership. He gave me his blessing,” per Daily Mail.
Jada later confessed to the “entanglement” on her show, Red Table Talk, but insisted that she and Will were separated at the time. “We were over,” she told Will on the episode, to which the Bad Boys actor quipped: “I was done with you.”
Jada then shared that “as time went on” she got into a “different kind of entanglement with August”.
Even after years of turbulence, the pair still appear connected.
The Girls Trip actress has maintained that they are “still figuring it out”, while the actor acknowledged in an interview that his wife’s comments about their relationship were a wake-up call for him.
“When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties,” he reflected, per Variety.
Still, their public interactions remain rare. Their last sighting was in November 2024, when they stepped out for dinner in Los Angeles.
A few months earlier, in May 2024, Jada attended the Bad Boys: Ride or Die premiere to support the actor – alongside their children Jaden, 26, Willow, 24, and Will’s eldest son Trey, 32.
Jada has also credited Will’s infamous Oscars slap – when he struck Chris Rock over a joke about her shaved head – as a pivotal moment in their relationship.
“That was a moment that I knew I would never leave Will’s side after all those years thinking I would,” she told Extra. “After all those years of thinking that I would, after all those years of thinking, I’m going to get divorced, I’m going to get a legal separation… And I didn’t go in there as his wife. But I was leaving that his wife. So it showed me that love can conquer all.”
She added: “You know, it’s funny how intense situations can amplify love, and it was a pretty difficult time, but it definitely drew us closer.”
