Millie Bobby Brown hasn’t spoken about Drake in some time, while he mentioned her in a song last year
Drake really seems to be going through it at the moment what with the grilling he received from Kendrick Lamar at the Super Bowl.
Thousands of people were singing along to ‘Not Like Us’, a diss song about Drake which contains the lyrics ‘certified p**dophile’, while his ex Serena Williams danced along.
Drake has really been raked over the coals since the release of ‘Not Like Us’, though the feud between the pair has been going on for over a decade now.
The song has put some of Drake’s friendships under the microscope, including the one he had with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown when she was 14 and he was 33.
In 2018 she described him as ‘a great friend and a great role model’, then went on to say that they texted each other adding that he told her ‘I miss you so much’ and she replied ‘I miss you more’.
She also said the rapper gave her advice about boys which would stay ‘in the text messages’.
Responding to the controversy over their friendship in a social media post, she hit out at those criticising it: “Why u gotta make a lovely friendship ur headline? U guys are weird…
“For real. I’m lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance. I’m very blessed to have amazing people in my life.
“U don’t get to choose that for me. It’s nice to have people understand what I do. Now get back to talking about real problems in this world other than my friendships.”
Drake in turn hit out at the criticism by mentioning her in his song ‘Another Late Night’ as he mentioned ‘weirdos in my comments’.
It’s been quite a while since Brown spoke about their friendship, but Drake has mentioned her in another song of his titled ‘The Heart Part 6’, the tune was a response to his feud with Kendrick Lamar that was released a couple of days after ‘Not Like Us’ came out.
In the song Drake says: “Only f**kin’ with Whitneys, not Millie Bobby Browns, I’d never look twice at no teenager.”
While the song didn’t get a very good reception when it released, it’s pretty evident from the lyrics that he denies anything weird went on, while her past comments talked about a ‘lovely friendship’.
Given the very public performance of ‘Not Like Us’ it seems like his feud with Kendrick isn’t going to blow over any time soon, and Drake is currently suing his own record label, which also represent Kendrick, for defamation.
Kendrick didn’t actually sing the ‘certified p**dophile’ lyric during his Super Bowl performance, but people in the crowd singing along filled it in for him.
