Paige DeSorbo is gushing over the best parts of being single in her 30s.
“I haven’t felt like I’ve gotten to enjoy it because I’ve been doing so much,” DeSorbo, 32, said on the Wednesday, April 16, episode of the “Dear Chelsea” podcast in reference to her newfound singledom. “That’s actually probably the best part about being single: being home by myself on a Saturday night. I f—ing love it. I’ve never gotten bored by myself.”
DeSorbo was joined by her Summer House costar and cohost of the “Giggly Squad” podcast Hannah Berner, with whom she co-authored the book How to Giggle: A Guide to Taking Life Less Seriously, published on Tuesday, April 15.
“Being in my 30s and being single, it’s so — I was really nervous,” DeSorbo continued. “I mean, when I was 25 I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll obviously be married by my early 30s,’ and now that I’m 32 and I’m single, I couldn’t imagine [being married]. I would not — I don’t think I would like it. I’m not ready. I already know I’m not ready.”
In their book, DeSorbo and Berner address the “loser epidemic” that is dating in your 30s, as well as what it means to “decenter men” in both your personal and dating life.
“I had a therapist one time tell me that like I’ve never picked my own boyfriend,” DeSorbo shared. “It just kind of hit me. She was exactly right. I couldn’t ever get over that. Like, ‘Oh my god, I never picked a single one of them. They’ve all picked me and I’ve just gone along with it.’”
“When I was first going on a reality show, I was dating a guy and he said to me, ‘If you go on this reality show I’ll never speak to you again,’” the Summer House star continued. “And in my head I was like, ‘Easy, done, I’m going on this show.’ And that man truly did never speak to me again.”
She added, “But if I had made a decision based on my career because he didn’t want me to, I don’t know where I would be. So I feel like that too is part of decentering men. You can’t make decisions based on what they’re telling you or what they want because, again, they’re losers.”
DeSorbo is freshly single after parting ways with Craig Conover in November 2024. The pair had been dating since 2021 after growing close during season 1 of Winter House, going on to pop up in shows like Summer House and Southern Charm over their three year relationship.
Conover, 36, meanwhile, has moved on with Natalie Buffet. “Paige isn’t fazed by Craig dating,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in April. According to the insider, DeSorbo “has been open to dating again, but is really focused on work.”
The source told Us, “It will take someone extremely special to be able to tie her down. She’s a hot commodity and people are always trying to date her.” The insider noted that DeSorbo “is super motivated and career focused and doesn’t want to be bogged down in a relationship right now.”
The source said, “Paige wants to have a fun summer and is doing what she wants right now.”
