Kim Kardashian was dripping in diamonds on her first-ever trip to India — until one of them mysteriously vanished.

Kim Kardashian needs no introduction, and she continues to make headlines wherever she goes. When she and her sister Khloé traveled to India for the wedding of Anant Ambani last July, they were expecting a magical experience straight out of Disney’s Aladdin — but they were in for a surprise.
The sisters had imagined the bustling markets they’d visit would resemble the ones in the 1992 animated film, set in the fictional city of Agrabah. But Kim quickly realized that reality wasn’t quite as she had pictured.
“I thought it was going to be like the marketplace,” Kim admitted. “This is like the streets.”
She went on to explain, “What you see Aladdin going through and stealing some bread from. This is where I thought we were going.”
Despite their initial expectations, it was clear the sisters were in for an even more unexpected adventure in India – and when it was time to head to the wedding, things took a dramatic turn.
The wedding, which was featured on the March 13 episode of The Kardashians, saw Kim and her sister Khloé Kardashian attending the lavish celebration of billionaire heir Anant Ambani and his fiancée Radhika Merchant.
The Los Angeles-based reality stars wore over 1,000 carats of diamonds, emeralds, and pearls from their long-time friend and jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz.
But things took a turn when Kim realized a diamond from her necklace was missing.As she and Khloé frantically searched the floor, Kim could be heard exclaiming, “I just am like, ‘Oh my God. I’m gonna have to pay for this.’”
The two were seen panicking amid the glitzy wedding, which was attended by celebrities like Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra, and John Cena.
Despite the tension, Kim and Khloé couldn’t resist posing for photos as the search for the missing diamond continued. Kim tried to assure viewers, saying, “Don’t get us wrong, we’re absolutely concerned about the diamond.”

This wasn’t the first time Kim’s relationship with diamonds made headlines. In 2011, a similar situation occurred when she lost a diamond earring in the ocean while on vacation in Bora Bora, leading to one of the most memorable Keeping Up With the Kardashians moments.

In fact, Kim has since joked about how people still ask her about that lost earring when she’s near water. In a 2023 interview, she claimed that Kylie Jenner even found the earring after diving back into the ocean with goggles.
But despite the occasional drama over her jewelry, Kim has stated she may never go back to buying expensive pieces after being robbed at gunpoint in Paris in 2016.
In a 2021 interview, she revealed that she no longer owns any expensive jewelry due to the trauma from the robbery, where burglars made off with around $10 million worth of valuables. “I just don’t live my life like that,” she shared. “Maybe don’t give her any more diamonds,” one social media user quipped after the latest incident.
