Kanye West has revealed that his wife, Bianca Censori, played a key role in helping him realize he has autism.
The 47-year-old rapper sat down with Justin Laboy on the Download podcast for a candid discussion about his life, creative process, and personal revelations.
During the conversation, West shared that his wife, Bianca Censori—whom he married in December 2022 following his divorce from Kim Kardashian—encouraged him to seek a second opinion regarding his mental health.
“My wife took me because she said, ‘Something about your personality doesn’t feel like it’s bipolar, I’ve seen bipolar before,’” he explained, adding that Censori is “educated”.
“And come to find out, it’s really a case of autism that I have,” Ye said, before comparing his condition to the 1988 film Rain Man, which follows a man who discovers he has an autistic brother.
The ‘Runaway’ rapper – who shares four children with Kardashian – also revealed that he avoids medication when experiencing episodes, fearing it could impact his artistry.
“I watch for it beforehand, but other times it was just like, if you get to the point where it goes, you’re gonna stay in that position for a while. It might go for three days, four days a week,” he said.
West explained much of what triggered his episodes stemmed from “the constant feeling of not being in control,” which left him spiraling.
The DONDA rapper’s revelation about his autism comes a few days after he and his wife made headlines for their brief appearance on the 2025 Grammys red carpet.
West, who was nominated for Best Rap Song, donned his signature look by wearing black jeans and top and pairing it with sunglasses, meanwhile, Censori dramatically dropped her black fur coat and revealed a completely sheer mesh dress with nothing underneath.

Shortly after their appearance, rumors swirled that the couple had been kicked out of the awards ceremony. However, it was later confirmed that they had left of their own accord.
West seemingly addressed the spectacle on Instagram, sharing three screenshots of Google Trends searches. Each image showed that Censori’s Grammys moment was being discussed more than the actual award winners.
Ye also shared a video of his 30-year-old wife stretching in a dark sheer bodysuit with the caption: “The most Googled person on Earth wearing YZY women’s.”
The post immediately sparked backlash, with social media users accusing West of using Censori for attention. Some called her outfit “indecent,” while others went as far as demanding her arrest after reports surfaced that a child on the red carpet witnessed her shedding her coat.
Amid the controversy, Grammys executive producer Raj Kapoor addressed whether Censori’s look violated any dress code policies.
“The dress code for Grammys guests is ‘artistic black-tie,’” Raj Kapoor clarified to PEOPLE on Tuesday. “But in the music industry, I guess that’s up for interpretation.”
