Bieber’s rep slammed a report that Bieber is in debt following a tour cancellation in 2022
Bieber has been candid about his self-worth in recent social media posts
People once close to Justin Bieber are concerned about the “Never Say Never” singer, a source tells PEOPLE.
“He is facing a lot of different demons right now,” the source says. “He is making some really poor decisions lately, further impacting friendships, money, and business.”
The insider adds, “People are worried about him.”
Among the stressors that Bieber is dealing with are Sean “Diddy” Combs’ impending trial (who Bieber was associated with in the mid-2010s) and his strained relationship with former manager Scooter Braun, who announced his retirement in 2024.
Bieber has also publicly severed ties with his fashion brand Drew House. “I Justin Bieber am no longer involved in this brand. Drew House doesn’t represent me or my family or life,” he wrote on a since-deleted Instagram Stories post on April 10. “If your [sic] rocking with me the human Justin Bieber don’t waste ur money on Drew House.”
The two-time Grammy winner is in the process of launching a new clothing line called SKYLRK.
This update comes after a former team member told The Hollywood Reporter that Bieber, 31, was “lost.”
“Seeing him disintegrate like this … it’s watching the embodiment of someone not living their purpose,” the former team member told the publication in an article published on April 16. “He’s lost. There’s no one protecting him because there’s no one there willing to say no to him. You say no, you get blown out.”
THR’s insiders also claimed that Bieber was left with millions of dollars in debt after canceling his Justice Tour in 2022.
A rep for Bieber slammedTHR’s sources in a statement, telling PEOPLE: “This is just clickbait stupidity based on unnamed — and clearly ill-informed — ‘sources,’ disappointed that they no longer work with Justin. As Justin forges his own way forward, these unnecessary stories and inaccurate assumptions will continue. But, they won’t deter him from staying committed to following the right path.”
This update comes weeks after Bieber had been sharing self-reflective statements on social media. On March 13, Bieber posted about feeling like a fraud on his Instagram Stories.
“People told me my whole life ‘wow Justin u deserve that’ and I personally have always felt unworthy,” Bieber said. “Like I was a fraud, Like when people told me I deserve something, it made me feel sneaky like, Damn if only they knew my thoughts.”
Over a week later on March 22, he shared an Instagram post that included a zoomed-in picture of him wearing a sweatshirt and a throwback picture of himself, speaking about anger issues in the caption. “I got anger issues too, but I wanna grow and not react so much smh 🤦♂️,” he wrote.
That day, he also shared a video of himself playing music during a gathering with a contemplative caption. “I think I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic,” Bieber wrote on Instagram.
“Then I remember we’re all being made to think we’re not enough but I still hate when I change myself to please people.”
