Duhamel and Fergie divorced in 2019 after eight years of marriage
Josh Duhamel is thankful for the life lessons learned after his marriage to Fergie.
In an interview with Parade shared on Thursday, April 10, the London Calling star, 52, reflected on his past marriage to the former Black Eyed Peas singer, 50.
According to Duhamel, he sees himself as a “work in progress” following his 2019 divorce from Fergie (née Stacy Ann Ferguson) following a two-year separation.
The two continue to co-parent their 11-year-old son, Axl Jack, with Duhamel noting there is “very little conflict” between the two.
In a past interview with the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast, the Transformers star shared that a big factor in their split came down to their difference in lifestyles.
“I don’t think I ever really got comfortable with all of it,” he said of the Hollywood way of life. “I just missed the simplicity of who I really am, you know?”
“I’m just not a guy who is comfortable going to red carpets. Doing all the Hollywood stuff,” he added.
Fergie filed for divorce from Duhamel in 2019 after eight years of marriage.
“I made peace with that part of my life. She and I have a great relationship,” Duhamel told Bensinger in 2023. “There wasn’t anything wrong with it. We had a great time. I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests.”
“I’ve got no hard feelings for it. I truly don’t,” he added. “I’m very lucky that she’s a kind human.”
Duhamel tied the knot with Miss World America winner Audra Mari, 31, in Fargo, N.D., in September 2022. The couple recently welcomed their first child together, son Shepherd Lawrence.
The actor and his family now live largely off the grid in the woods of Minnesota. “It really got me back in touch,” he said about their lifestyle. “There’s something about it that fulfills the soul in a lot of ways.”
