Glen Powell is opening up about his desire to get married one day.
Days after the actor, 36, attended his sister Leslie’s wedding, he spoke with Today about whether or not he feels pressure from his family to tie the knot now that he’s the only unmarried Powell sibling left. The Twisters star plans to wait until he finds his perfect match like his sisters did before saying “I do.”
“I will say my, both of my sisters have married just incredible guys,” said Powell, who is the middle child between older sister Lauren and younger sister Leslie. “They’ve done it right.”
“I want to be married once, and I want to do it right the first time,” he continued. “So I think everybody in the family … I have very protective sisters. Whoever it is, we’ll do it right.”
Powell told Jenna Bush Hager and guest co-host Olivia Munn on Today with Jenna & Friends on April 2 that he was a groomsman and “like the master of ceremonies” at Leslie’s wedding in Texas over the weekend. He also confirmed that his Anyone But You costar Sydney Sweeney, 27, was in attendance when he addressed the romance rumors between them.
“You know, timing is everything in this world,” Powell said while laughing. “[Leslie] and Syd are obviously great friends and it was a hell of a wedding.”
“You know, the Powells know how to do it right, and so all the people that love her were there,” he continued, adding, “The Powells know how to crank it up!”
The sole single Powell sibling did not bring Sweeney — who PEOPLE confirmed recently split from her fiancé Jonathan Davino — as his wedding date. According to his mom, Cyndy, speculation that Powell and the Euphoria star are dating is “silly” because “they’re definitely not together.”
“[There is] nothing going on behind closed doors,” Cyndy told the Daily Mail on April 1.
“We love Sydney. We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend,” she continued to the outlet. “We all were together so much, and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her.”

During his interview for Today’s website, Powell shared what he said in his wedding toast to Leslie and her husband, Thomas Gillespie.
“I worked hard on this one because I have such a close relationship with my little sister, and she’s hard to sum up,” Powell said.
“She and Thomas — they’re goofy and they’re good people,” he continued of the bride and groom, before summarizing his speech, “Their personalities match. You sometimes go to weddings and you think, ‘Oh, these two people could probably end up with other people, and they’d be also happy.’ That is not the case here. They are so specific, and so like, perfectly matched, that it just feels like true love.”
While promoting his new condiment line, Smash Kitchen, Powell opened up to PEOPLE about how he’s feeling almost one year after he moved back to his home state of Texas to be closer to his family.
“My life and career so far, it’s never felt right unless I’ve had my family along for the ride,” he said. “So I think the fun part for me is that I have my mom and dad there, both of my sisters and their families, and it’s just been really special being back around the family.”
