Two years after her split from Hugh Jackman, Deborra-Lee Furness is working on feeling like herself again.
“Deb is currently rebuilding her life and taking a vacation to Bhutan to start fresh and get away from the pain,” a source exclusively shares in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “She’s relied on a strong support system of female friends. She also spends time with other women who’ve been through similar situations who offer her unwavering support.”
Furness and Jackman announced their separation in September 2023 after nearly three decades of marriage. (The pair, who tied the knot in 1996, adopted son Oscar and daughter Ava in 2000 and 2005, respectively.)
“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” they said in a joint statement at the time. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority.”
The statement concluded, “We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
Us broke the news in November 2024 that Jackman’s romance with Sutton Foster, his costar in Broadway’s The Music Man, was the reason for his split from Furness. A source alleged at the time that “there was an affair and overlap.” (Foster filed for divorce from screenwriter Ted Griffin in October 2024. The twosome adopted daughter Emily, who was born in 2017.)

“Ultimately, the differences in their outlooks on life played a major role in the breakdown of Hugh and Deb’s relationship,” the insider says. “Sutton shared Hugh’s low-key nature and sophistication, which contributed to their instant connection.”
Despite the messy start to their romance, Jackman and Foster are seemingly going strong. In January, the couple was spotted holding hands in Los Angeles, and Foster was later seen supporting Jackman at the opening of his Radio City Music Hall residency, From New York, With Love.
“They’re not officially living together but spending a lot of time together,” a source revealed to Us in February, adding that Jackman and Foster are “relieved and happy” to be out of hiding.
While Jackman and Foster aren’t “rushing into marriage,” the pair are “madly in love” with each other and are “committed.”
