On an episode of ‘The Valley,’ the exes fight after Taylor breaks one of Cartwright’s rules
Brittany Cartwright is drawing a line when it comes to her son.
On the Tuesday, April 22 episode of The Valley, the star, 36, told her estranged husband Jax Taylor, 45, not to kiss their son after he spent the night with a woman she called “disgusting.”
“Don’t kiss him,” Cartwright tells Taylor after he comes over to visit their son Cruz, 4. “Don’t kiss him on the face.”
“I just don’t want you kissing him on his face because you had a disgusting girl here last night,” Cartwright explains.
Taylor goes on to refute Cartwright’s claims, saying that he didn’t hook up with anyone and that the girl slept in a separate bedroom. However, Cartwright found lipstick marks on a cup in the fridge.
“She has a house. Why couldn’t you go there? That was our one rule,” Cartwright asks.
Taylor claims that Cartwright is also breaking some rules, referencing her past encounter with his friend Julian Sensley, adding, “I just wanted to see Cruz and give him a big hug and a big kiss, and then right off the bat, Brittany is just coming at me.”
Later in the episode, it’s revealed that Taylor checked into a treatment center to work on his mental health struggles.
In early March, Taylor shared that he has been dealing with substance issues while appearing on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast. The reality TV star told host Alex Baskin that he’s had “substance issues — primarily with cocaine” for the past 20 years and shared that one of the reasons he’s striving to get sober is for his son, Cruz.
“The big thing here is my son. He’s my drive and he’s my No. 1 driver for this,” the former Vanderpump Rules star candidly shared.
“Obviously, I’m not the type of person who can have one drink and be okay. It’s just not in my cards, and I had to stop. I was going to lose custody,” he went on. “I’m embarrassing my ex-wife and I’m embarrassing myself. Nobody’s looking at me seriously. I want to do it for myself.”
Taylor went on, saying that he’s only able to see his son when Cartwright allows him to.
“I take care of my son as much as [Brittany] allows me to. I don’t know what else she wants from me.” he said at the time. “I’m doing everything that she’s asked for just because I respect her, and I want to make her happy. I’m going above and beyond to show her that I do care, and I want to be in my son’s life.”
On Aug. 27, Cartwright filed for divorce from her husband of five years, requesting primary legal and physical custody of Cruz. In a document filed on Sept. 26, in response to Cartwright’s divorce filing, Taylor requested that Cartwright receive full legal and physical custody of their son.
The Valley airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
