Inside Donald and Melania Trump’s ‘committed’ marriage: ‘This is how she balances her husband’

Donald Trump and Melania Trump who have been together for 20 years, maintain a dynamic relationship that blends strength and balance.

Régine Mahaux, Melania’s official photographer, recently shared her perspective on the first lady’s presence in an interview with Hello! Magazine, published on Monday.

According to Mahaux, Melania, now 54, possesses a unique combination of strength and grace. “There is something in her – she is a strong woman – but at the same time, there is the soft power; she’s really good at balancing her husband,” she remarked.

Mahaux also expressed her admiration for Melania’s resilience, acknowledging that she sometimes finds herself wondering how Melania has “the courage to keep going.”

Donald and Melania Trump have endured many challenges over the years, but their bond remains strong. “They’ve gone through so much. She’s committed. She loves him, and he loves her,” said Régine Mahaux, Melania’s official photographer, in a recent interview.

“She’s always in the right place. She’s always behind her husband. He’s in the light; she doesn’t need the light. She’s a very good No. 2,” Mahaux explained, highlighting Melania’s strong sense of family and dedication to supporting her husband.

“It’s always her husband first, and I like that; she has strong family values, to be a good wife and to make sure they’re happy.”

Melania has changed a lot since the first presidency

Reflecting on how Melania has evolved over the years, Mahaux added, “She’s a different person than she was eight years ago and has always been true to herself. This time, it feels like a different energy with new people that the President has surrounded himself with.”

Beyond her unwavering support for Donald Trump, the former first lady is also known for her kindness and attentiveness toward her staff. Hervé Pierre, Melania’s stylist, recalled a moment early in his work with her that left a lasting impression.

“[When I had] just started to work for Mrs. Trump, I was preparing clothes for a fitting and saw her putting shoes in a suitcase,” he shared. “I immediately told her that she couldn’t do that and it was my job to do it, and she answered: ‘I always pack myself so I am sure what is in my luggage.’”

Melania, who married Donald Trump in 2005, recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on January 22. As she continues to support her husband, she plans to divide her time between Washington, D.C., Mar-a-Lago, and Trump Tower in New York City, where their son, Barron, is currently a freshman at NYU.

Speaking about her priorities, Melania previously stated, “My first priority is, you know, to be a mom, to be a first lady, to be a wife, and once we are in on Jan. 20, you serve the country.”
